Deze training wordt in het Engels gegeven, in samenwerking met Oxford Mindfulness Centre (OMC).

The first day of this training will focus on scientific and professional updates in mindfulness-based programs (MBPs). Research-related topics will include assessment of mindfulness, efficacy of MBPs, mechanisms of change, and the effects of mindfulness training on kindness, compassion, and empathy. Professional issues will include adaptations of MBCT using the warp and weft framework, a brief introduction to two newer curricula (MBCT for Life and Finding Peace in a Frantic World), and the Mindfulness-Based Interventions – Teaching Assessment Criteria (MBI-TAC).
The second day of the training will focus on ethical issues in mindfulness-based programs. Topics will include implicit ethical foundations, the role of professional ethics, Buddhist and secular perspectives, protecting course participants from harm and adverse events, and ethical communication about mindfulness.

Ruth Baer is a clinical psychologist and Professor of Psychology at the University of Kentucky, where she conducts research on mindfulness and teaches and supervises a variety of mindfulness-based interventions. Her scholarly work focuses on assessment and conceptualization of mindfulness, effects of mindfulness-based interventions, mechanisms of change in mindfulness training, and professional training and ethics in the mindfulness field. She has contributed to the development of several self-report instruments for assessing mindfulness and related skills, edited three books for professionals on mindfulness-related topics, and written a book on mindfulness for the general public. She serves on the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed journals and is an Associate Editor for Mindfulness. She is also an Associate of the Oxford Mindfulness Centre at the University of Oxford where she collaborates on research and gives talks and workshops about mindfulness.
